Installation Instructions

Estimated Installation Time: 30-60 Minutes

Tools Required

• 10mm socket and ratchet
• T20 Torx screwdriver
• Small flat-blade screwdriver
• Small Allen wrench (recommended)

Step 1 – Disconnect the Battery

For safety, disconnect the negative battery terminal before beginning installation. Wait approximately 60 minutes to allow any residual power in the airbag system to discharge.

Step 2 – Remove the Airbag Assembly

1. Ensure the steering wheel is centered.
2. Locate the access holes on each side of the steering wheel.
3. Using a small flat-blade screwdriver or Allen wrench, depress the retaining spring through each access hole.
4. Carefully release and remove the airbag assembly.
5. Place the airbag on top of the steering wheel without disconnecting the electrical connectors.

Step 3 – Remove the Steering Wheel Cover

1. Locate the T20 Torx screw securing the plastic steering wheel cover.
2. Remove the screw.
3. Pull the cover outward to release the retaining tab and remove the cover.

Step 4 – Remove the Factory Paddle Shifters

1. Remove the two T20 Torx screws securing the factory paddle shifter assembly.
2. Carefully pull the paddle assembly away from the steering wheel.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector by pressing the locking tab and sliding the connector apart.

Step 5 – Install the New Paddle Shifter Assembly

1. Connect the electrical connector to the new paddle shifter assembly.
2. Position the assembly onto the steering wheel.
3. Reinstall and tighten the two T20 mounting screws.

Step 6 – Reassemble the Steering Wheel

1. Reinstall the steering wheel cover by inserting the retaining tab first.
2. Secure the cover using the original T20 screw.
3. Reinstall the airbag assembly until both retaining springs fully engage.

Step 7 – Final Testing

1. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Start the vehicle and verify there are no airbag warning lights.
3. Test both paddle shifters for proper operation.
4. Confirm the right paddle performs upshifts and the left paddle performs downshifts.
